2018 OACP June Board Meeting

OACP Board hard at work in Redmond, OR. Included were a few new faces. Please see right for a roster of the full board.

I trust everyone's summer is off to a great start! If you haven't already, take some time away from work, enjoy the sun and love on your family!

Your OACP Board of Directors met yesterday and we want to make sure and introduce your OACP Leadership. Your Executive Officers include myself, 1st Vice President Chief Kris Allison from Central Point, 2nd Vice President Chief Jim Ferraris from Woodburn, Secretary/Treasurer Chief Matt Workman from Warrenton and VP At-Large Chief Jeff Fossholm from Silverton.

As some may have heard, Baker City Chief Wyn Lohner recently retired, causing a vacancy in the position of 2nd Vice President. According to the OACP By-Laws, the Secretary/Treasurer ascends to fill that position and a new Secretary/Treasurer is elected. I called on the Past President's nominating committee who forwarded Warrenton Chief Matt Workman as a qualified candidate and he was voted in by the Board of Directors at their June meeting.

We also have a few new members of the Board of Directors and it is important you know your OACP District Representative. Please see the right side of this publication for information or click the following links to view the Executive Board and District Representatives on our website.

Your association continues to represent well at the state level. So far I have made six (6) committee, task force and/or work group appointments, with more to come. We are working with the League of Oregon Cities on legislative priorities and will be meeting with leadership from the Oregon City Manager's Association and are hoping to participate in some way at the annual conference later this summer.

The committee process has been completed and I hope you have either heard from your Co-Chairs, or will very soon. Thank you all for your participation on the various OACP committees and the great work you do through them.

I have met with several Chiefs so far and have several more visits planned. Please feel free to reach out to me if you want to get together, need anything or have any suggestions to make OACP better.

Thanks and stay safe!

In your service-JG
